This Privacy Notice describes how DAKDAN Talent collects, uses, and protects personal information from military service members, veterans, and their families participating in the DOD SkillBridge program.
About SkillBridge
The DOD SkillBridge program provides transitioning service members with civilian work experience during their last 180 days of service. DAKDAN Talent partners with SkillBridge to facilitate industry training and apprenticeships.
Active duty members within 180 days of separation with commander approval
Up to 180 days of full-time training while receiving military pay/benefits

Information We Collect
Service Member Data
Required Information
- Name, rank, branch of service
- Estimated Transition Separation (ETS) date
- Military Occupational Specialty (MOS/AFSC/NEC)
- Security clearance level (if applicable)
- Command approval documentation
- Contact information (personal email, phone)
Optional Information
- Veteran disability rating (for accommodation)
- Post-9/11 GI Bill® benefits status
- Vocational Rehabilitation eligibility
- Spouse/family employment preferences
- Certifications and civilian education
- Geographic preferences and relocation needs
Sensitive Data Handling
We handle sensitive military data with additional safeguards:
- Security Clearances: Only disclosed to DOD-approved employers with proper facility clearances
- Disability Information: Shared only for accommodation purposes with explicit consent
- Deployment History: Not collected or shared; not relevant for civilian employment
- Medical Records: Never accessed; protected under HIPAA

Data Sharing & Disclosure
Who We Share With
Department of Defense (DOD)
SkillBridge program administrators receive:
- • Participant enrollment and completion status
- • Employer placement information
- • Post-program employment outcomes (aggregate)
- • Program satisfaction surveys
Approved Employers
When you apply to a SkillBridge opportunity, we share your profile (name, contact, MOS translation, skills) with the employer. Employers must be DOD-approved and comply with SkillBridge program rules.
Transition Assistance Programs (TAP)
With your consent, we coordinate with installation TAP offices, VA Vocational Rehabilitation, and other transition resources.
What We Do NOT Share
- ✗Military Records: Service record, DD214, medical/disability records not shared
- ✗Security Clearances: Only confirmed yes/no to employers with facility clearances
- ✗VA Benefits: GI Bill, disability rating details kept confidential
- ✗Third-Party Marketing: No selling of veteran lists to recruiters

Alumni Services
After program completion, you're invited to opt-in to our veteran alumni network for continued career support. If you decline, contact info deleted within 90 days. Aggregate outcomes data retained for research.

- Separate database for SkillBridge participants
